Retired missionary Nettie Stroud passes away

Retired missionary Nettie Stroud passed away 27 October. She was 83 years old.

In 1955, Nettie married her husband, Paul, and together the couple served for 11 years in Thomas, Apache, Lindsay, and Walters, Oklahoma. Nettie and Paul went on to serve as missionaries in Cabo Verde from 1966 to 1971, when they returned to the USA to pastor churches in Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and Texas.

The couple returned to Africa in 1983, serving as missionaries in Cabo Verde and Ghana. From 1997 to 2007, they served as camp managers for the Southwest Oklahoma District. Eventually, they served as interim pastors for the Waurika Church in Oklahoma until Paul accepted the position of associate pastor for adult ministries at Mustang Church of the Nazarene in 2011. 

Nettie was preceded in death by her son Nathan. She is survived by her husband, Paul, and their children, Paula, Eunice, and Raymond.

A memorial service for Nettie Stroud will be held Saturday 3 November at the Mustang First Church of the Nazarene in Oklahoma.
