In Memoriam: 21 June 2019

The following is a weekly listing of Nazarene ministers and leaders who recently went home to be with the Lord. Notices were received 17-21 June 2019.

Johnnie Childress, 75, of Tupelo, Mississipi, passed away 12 June. She was preceded in death by her husband, retired minister Roy Childress, who served in Mississippi. Roy Childress passed away in 2008.

Esther Conkey-Blanks, 89, of Copley, Ohio, passed away 7 June. She was preceded in death by her husband, retired minister James Conkey Jr., who served in Ohio, Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Florida. James Conkey Jr. passed away in 1989.

Juanita (Williams) Moon, 93, of Hampstead, North Carolina, passed away 14 June. She was a retired missionary, serving in Eswatini and Mozambique. She was preceded in death by her husband, retired missionary William Moon, who served in Eswatini and Mozambique. William Moon passed away in 2011. 

Norman Paschal, 90, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away 8 June. He was a retired minister, serving in Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Paschal, in 2001.

Marie Pierre, 91, of Roselle, New Jersey, passed away 9 June. She was the wife of retired minister, Joachim Pierre, who served in Florida.

John Tharp, 84, of Watertown, New York, passed away 14 June. He was a retired minister, serving in Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Arizona, Tennessee, and Illinois. He is survived by his wife, Mary Tharp.

Brian Walker, 49, of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away 16 June. He was the pastor at Bennettsville First Church of the Nazarene in South Carolina. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Walker.
