NTC-Indonesia announces new rector

by | 03 Mar 2015

Nazarene Theological College-Indonesia recently announced the installation of Stephanus Hartoyo as the college's new rector.

Hartoyo has a long history of service to the Church of the Nazarene and NTC-Indonesia. For more than 30 years he has served as pastor of Filadelfia Church of the Nazarene, in addition to leading the college's master's program and directing Academic Affairs.

Elected to serve three years, Hartoyo will work to increase the number of teachers in order to maintain governmental accreditation, expand the school's influence in Indonesia, mentor and develop school leadership, and lead efforts toward the school's financial self-sustainability.

NTC-Indonesia and the Church of the Nazarene's Sealands Field expressed appreciation to Alexander Suranto, who resigned as rector to focus fully on completing a doctoral program.

Suranto served as rector for two years, during which time the college achieved governmental accreditation in the theology, Christian education, and master's programs. Suranto also oversaw several teachers' advancement toward governmental certification.

Under Suranto's leadership, the school developed stronger bonds with local churches and districts in Indonesia. Suranto will continue to serve as head of the Christian Education program.
