Nazarene Compassionate Ministries Philippines, along with the disaster response team from the Bicol District, provided immediate help for families forced to evacuate due to the threat of the Mayon Volcano eruption. The relief operation was carried out on 28 June 2023.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology raised the alert level of the Mayon Volcano to Level 3, meaning a heightened risk of a hazardous eruption, which forced 20,000 residents within the 6-kilometer radius around the volcano to evacuate and relocate to different evacuation centers.

After the initial assessment of the evacuation centers, Pastor Nouly Caigas mobilized the NCM Bicol team to organize a relief operation for five evacuation centers. The team put together care packages that include food and hygiene kits.

The team distributed care packages to 93 families in Buang, Tabaco City, 57 families in Basag, Ligao City, 40 families in Mauraro Elementary School Evacuation Center, and ten care packages in child-friendly spaces.

Continue to pray for the families affected by the Mayon Volcano eruption that their needs will be met during this challenging time. Also, pray for the local churches to continue to be hands and feet of Jesus to the families they minister to.
