Harper L. Cole, Jr. passed away May 17 at age 93. 

Harper was born on December 5, 1921, to Harper L. Cole Sr. and Maide Belle (McBride) Cole, in Pasadena, California.  He received his bachelor's degree from Bethany Nazarene College, his master's degree from the University of Oklahoma, and his doctoral degree from Oklahoma State University.

Cole served the Church of the Nazarene for 38 years as a pastor and educator.  He served as associate pastor in Bethany, Oklahoma; Kansas City, Missouri; and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He helped plant four churches in Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma.  For 12 years he was assistant to the general treasurer at Nazarene Headquarters. 

In his 20 years as a Christian educator, Cole was administrative assistant to the business manager and taught at Southern Nazarene University and was executive vice president at Trevecca Nazarene University. He finished his career as executive vice president and academic dean at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas.

Cole is survived by his widow, Pearl, their children, Steve and Myrla, three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
