The Church of the Nazarene announced the following retiring missionaries during a meeting of the 99th Session of the General Board. As individuals, they have given a combined 314 years of service to God through the Church of the Nazarene.

Bill lancaster

Remembering Bill Lancaster

John William “Bill” Lancaster Jr., 88, of Owens Cross Roads, Alabama, passed away 4 February 2023. He was a retired district superintendent who led the Mississippi District from 1980 to 1987 and the Houston District from 1987 to 2000.

Costa Rica youth ministry experiences awakening through board games

The youth ministry of the Church of the Nazarene in Rositer Carballo, Costa Rica, is experiencing significant growth since adding a new ministry. Currently, about 11 people are part of the youth ministry team, and about 65 young people meet every Friday.

Brazil program teaches youth about missions

The Mission School for Adolescents (EMA) welcomed 112 adolescents from the states of Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Paraná, and Espírito Santo in January. EMA exists to prepare Christian adolescents to fulfill the Great Commission.

New Zealand youth camp returns after two-year hiatus

Nearly 75 Nazarene teens and leaders came together to attend the New Zealand District youth summer camp held 9-12 January 2023. It was the first district youth camp since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ukraine one year on: Zee's story

It was the summer of 2022, and Zee was living with the daily tension of a life in two places—the life of a refugee. When the war broke out, Gimon’s husband joined the Ukrainian territorial guard. The couple decided that she and their two children would remain at home.

Six men baptized at Ecuador rehab center

Six men undergoing addiction treatment were baptized at a rehab center in Quito, Ecuador. Rodrigo Olmedo, who led the ceremony, is a Nazarene pastor and a former addict.

Kentucky woman gains sobriety thanks to persistence of local church

Jessica Honaker may never have gotten sober if not for the persistence of her pastor, and the people of Corbin Church of the Nazarene. Sober and clean for five years now, Honaker is the treasurer of Hope Place.
