by | 24 Feb 2015

General Superintendent David A. Busic announced the appointment of Gary W. Moore as superintendent of the Northern California District.

Moore follows John Calhoun, who resigned to take a position at Point Loma Nazarene University. Moore has been serving as interim superintendent since February 1.

A member of the Sacramento District Advisory Board, Moore previously pastored churches in Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, Idaho, California, and Oregon. In addition, he served as a missionary in South Africa, Kenya, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and on the Eurasia Region as field strategy coordinator of Western Mediterranean and Northern Europe. He was also superintendent of the France District.

Moore received a Bachelor of Arts from Pasadena College (now Point Loma Nazarene University) and a Master of Divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary.

Gary and his wife, LaVonna, reside in Yuba City, California.
