The following is a weekly listing of Nazarene ministers and leaders who recently went home to be with the Lord. Notices were received 30 May - 2 June 2023.

Michael Bannon, 73, of Vale, Oregon, passed away 27 May 2023. He was a retired minister who served in Oregon and Washington. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Bannon.

Carolette Devinney, 72, of Coventry Township, Ohio, passed away 28 May 2023. She was the wife of Timothy Devinney, a retired minister who served in Ohio, Illinois, and Michigan.

Lois Hughes, 93, of Duarte, California, passed away 19 May 2023. She was the widow of Donald Hughes, a retired minister who served in California. Donald passed away in 2002.

James Lighty, 94, of Sebring, Florida, passed away 29 May 2023. He was a retired minister who served in Florida and Mississippi. He is survived by his wife, Freda Lighty. 

George Miller, 72, of Carnegie, Oklahoma, passed away 28 May 2023. He was a retired missionary who served for 27 years in Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, and the Philippines. Miller was the pastor of Carnegie Church of the Nazarene at the time of his death, having pastored the church since 2020. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Miller, who passed away in 2018. He is survived by his second wife, Jeanne Miller.

Virgil Peterson, 70, of North Mankato, Minnesota, passed away 26 May 2023. He was a retired minister who served in Minnesota. He is survived by his wife, Mary Peterson.

Beverly Rains, 87, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away 28 May 2023. She was the widow of Glendle Rains, a retired minister who served in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas. Glendle passed away in 2015.

O. Dwight Wiser, 74, of McMinnville, Tennessee, passed away 28 May 2023. He was a retired minister who served in Tennessee, West Virginia, and Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Wiser, who passed away in 2015.
