Two new FSC appointed in Brazil
Two new field strategy coordinators have been appointed in Brazil: Damásio Morais for the Brazil North Field and Severino José Quirino for the Brazil Central Field.
The appointments were made on 16 October 2024 by Global Missions Director Jim Ritchie upon the recommendation of South America Region Director Alessandro Polonio and in consultation with Jurisdictional General Superintendent T. Scott Daniels. Both appointments are effective 1 November 2024.
Severino José Quirino has served as the superintendent of the Espírito Santo District since 2009. He received a bachelor’s from Nazarene Theological Seminary of Brazil in 1994 and is currently working towards a master’s degree in leadership, also from Nazarene Theological Seminary of Brazil.
He became an ordained minister in 2009 and has pastored on the Espirito Santo District since 1993 while helping to establish multiple new churches on the district. In addition to leading the Espírito Santo District, he serves as the senior pastor of Igreja do Nazareno de Itapuã.
He and his wife, Karina, have been married for 16 years and have five children and one granddaughter.
Damásio Morais currently serves as the superintendent of the Amazonas District. He earned a bachelor’s degree in theology from FATIN (Faculdade de Teologio Integrada) in 2016 and has been an ordained minister of the Church of the Nazarene since 1995.
Morais has served in multiple churches since 1994 and has worked at the district level prior to his superintendency. From 2017 to 2024, Morais served as the national coordinator of evangelism and JESUS Film.
He and his wife, Maria, have been married for 31 years and have two children.
