YOUTH PROJECTS
GREATEST NEED
Nazarene Youth International (NYI) serves as the youth ministry department for the Church of the Nazarene worldwide including over 448,000 youth in 162 world areas. NYI exists to lead young people into a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ and to facilitate their growth as disciples for Christian service. Your financial gift to the greatest NYI need will provide much needed support to the most urgent youth ministry challenges.
EVANGELISM
The most recent research indicates that 85% of all people who choose to follow Jesus Christ will do so by the age of 18 or they never will. In many world areas that age of decision is now 14. It is critical that the church implements strategies to present the salvation message to youth worldwide. This is done through methods such as sports, camps, drama, music, and one-on-one sharing. Your financial gift to evangelism will fund strategic outreach.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Effective youth ministry is accomplished through well-equipped and trained youth leaders. NYI believes that young people should begin serving in leadership roles while they are young. Ultimately youth who find a place to serve through the church become better connected to the church and are more likely to remain as an adult. Your financial gift to leadership development will help fund training for youth and youth leaders.
TRANSLATION
NYI is committed to providing materials in the five most spoken languages represented in the Church of the Nazarene: English, French, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. When possible, materials are translated into other major languages based on representation such as Bengali or Hindi. Your financial gift to translation will help further the availability of resources to youth and youth leaders worldwide.
BIBLE QUIZZING
It is through the Word of God that we learn what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. Bible Quizzing engages youth in a focused study of the Bible within a community dedicated to living out their faith. This significant discipleship ministry continues to spread to new areas and NYI is committed to translating materials, training leaders, and providing the resources needed for it to grow. Your financial gift towards Bible Quizzing will directly support the expansion of this ministry around the world.
JUST MOVE
NYI partners with Nazarene Compassionate Ministries (NCM) to educate young people worldwide about those in need of help from others. The current focus is Just Water that engages youth in responding to the physical needs of others for clean water so that the church can further engage their spiritual, emotional, social, and mental needs. The money raised for clean water is part of a greater strategy for the church to serve a community in need.
