Angola Women's Congress

Nazarene women in Angola celebrated the first National Ladies Congress from August 27-29. The event was attended by 600 participants from the eight national districts, plus 200 local attendees who joined each worship service.

Themed "Women of the Word" (John 15:3-4a), the event aimed to challenge the ladies to live the Word of God in three central aspects: their inner world, their marriages, and their ministerial life.

"At this congress, I learned that we must trust in God and be women of prayer because he is the one who solves our problems," said Gisela da Silva, an attendee. "I was very blessed by the speakers and realized that the moderators were full of God's presence. I thank God for allowing me to take part in this program." The sessions addressed practical issues such as stewardship of the body, time management tips, sexuality, and personal gifts. The speakers were Ester Ferreira, wife of the Lusophone Field Strategy coordinator, and Cape Verdean psychologist Milena Monteiro.

In addition, the National Board of Women's Ministry was established with representatives from all the districts in Angola. Through this leadership, the ladies' ministry is already starting to organize itself financially for the event's next edition, planned for 2025.

"I was challenged to work more in the women's ministry, and I realized that within this ministry, there is a lot to be done," said Judite Inocêncio, another attendee. "I went home challenged to improve women's ministry among the women in my district."

Organizers praised God for supporting the Africa Region and the Lusophone Field, which generously supported the event.
