Vandana Kinkar elected superintendent of Eastern Maharashtra District
In February 2025, Vandana Kinkar was elected superintendent of India’s Eastern Maharashtra District.
The appointment is effective 18 March 2025. She follows Daniel Bhalero, who is retiring after leading the Eastern Maharashtra district for the last decade.
Kinkar’s appointment is a testament to her lifelong commitment to serving the Lord and the Church.
Vandana accepted Christ at a young age and dedicated her early adult years to serving in youth ministry, eventually becoming the district youth president in 1988. In 1992, she married Madhukar Kinkar, a pastor and professor at Nazarene Bible College in Washim, Maharashtra.
Vandana pursued careers in education and administration while actively supporting her local Nazarene Missions International and Sunday School ministries. She completed her theological studies at South Asia Nazarene Bible College and received her district preacher’s license. In 2019, the Church of the Nazarene ordained her as an elder.
She has served in various leadership roles, including as a district advisory board member since 2022. Her election as district superintendent is a recognition of her steadfast faith, leadership, and dedication to God’s Kingdom.
“This is the Lord’s doing,” Vandana shares. “I praise God for this huge and important responsibility. I will do my best to serve with the servitude and humility of Jesus Christ to enhance His Kingdom.”
